EVIL: SCARECROW to play the 09 Pure Rawk Awards

Evil: Scarecrow are the first band confirmed to play the Pure Rawk Awards 2009. Described lovingly as "the scariest thing to come out of Nottingham since Torvill and Dean", Evil: Scarecrow have been creating some waves this year.

Taking influence from Cradle Of Filth, Slayer and Europe, their "Blue Peter Metal" may seem a bit different than what Pure Rawk readers and gig goers are used to. However, we feel they firmly fit the criteria for a Pure Rawk band. They're far from carbon copies of anything around at the moment and if you don't fall in love with their "Iron Maiden meets Black Metal meets stickyback plastic performances" then there is certainly some rigamortis setting in.

Evil: Scarecrow opened the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008 after winning an Unsigned competition voted for by fans earlier this year. Their previous two releases "Crowcifiction" and "Hell Dog" have received nothing but brilliant press from the big wigs of rock n' metal journalism.

Whether you're into black metal or rock n' roll, Evil: Scarecrow will grab your attention with their dramatic stage show ... four note solos, robot dances and the 'Hell Dog'. Their trademark track 'Robototron' features on the Pure Rawk "Unleashed and Loaded Vol 3." CD which is available from www.purerawk.co.uk/shop.

Evil: Scarecrow will be one of 4 acts to appear on the night for the Pure Rawk Awards 2009. The awards will be at the Purple Turtle in Camden on Friday 27 February 2009. You can vote online at www.purerawk.co.uk/awards and buy tickets for the awards ceremony and the aftershow for a steal at http://www.wegottickets.com/ and http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/.

GUN will be headlining 2 exclusive one off shows with Classic Rock Magazine

After a year that has seen legendary Scottish Rock band GUN not only
reform with new vocalist Toby Jepson (ex – Little Angels) but return to
stages around the UK including an appearance on the main stage at this year’s
T In The Park festival alongside the launch event for Rock Radio in Manchester,
it is with great pleasure that GUN announce further shows.

GUN will be headlining 2 exclusive one off shows in December. They will be the first in a prestigious series of shows presented in association with Classic Rock magazine and the Academy Group featuring classic rock acts performing their classic albums.

They will be the only time GUN will play the first album, ‘Taking on the world’ in its entirety, from start to finish.

18th DEC – SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE

20th DEC – GLASGOW ACADEMY

Toby had this to say:

‘’It is with immense pleasure that we have accepted these shows,
the invitation was incredible and how could we resist? It has been a fun year
for the band what with taking the first tentative steps in January at the Rock
Radio birthday bash and T In The Park this summer, so this is a great way to
finish off the start of the beginning if you like! We are all stunned by the
interest the band has gathered along the way and feel blessed with the situation…we
certainly are not taking it for granted and plan to have a great time doing
these very special gigs… we feel like a new band now, having done half
a dozen gigs this year and we believe we can emerge next year with great new
music and hungry for success again…I can’t see any reason why Gun
cannot reach the heights it did before…bring it on…!’’
