Its also, the previous home to JUNKTION 7.<br /><br />Junktion 7. A venue, close to the heart of Pure Rawk announced that is was closing last year. It was a very sad day as the venue had a pretty good wealth of history nationally and some very memorable moments were had by us over the years in PR HQ.<br /><br />However, SEVEN has been reopened in its place. It looks like it has strong promises to be just as great as J7. The new SEVEN owners comment on their website: "Our aim is to make a contribution to Nottingham's wonderful music scene by showcasing the best bands from around the UK & beyond, along with the very best talent our wild and wonderful city has to offer."<br /><br />The first gig at the new, shiny SEVEN is on Friday 13th February. Playing live is Martyr Defiled. Nottingham's MD celebrate the launch of their debut EP 'Ecophagy' on Thirty Days of Night Records. The gig is free entry.<br /><br />Go to <a href="http://www.sevenlive.co.uk/">http://www.sevenlive.co.uk/</a> for more details and to keep up-to-date with this new and exciting venue.Nicola Crichtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974512811157443722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610200031404784268.post-29797860748355043862009-01-15T08:01:00.000-08:002009-01-15T08:02:22.332-08:00In a band and want to get the best start in life?<strong>Tourdates.co.uk</strong> are very excited to announce a brand new initiative for 2009, the Musicians’ Clinic, allowing upcoming Artists access to music industry leaders.<br /><br />The clinic will be held monthly at Proud galleries in Camden, North London and will allow upcoming artists a unique opportunity to discuss the challenges they are facing in areas such as label negotiations and legal issues, merchandise strategy, effective PR, working with the press and sales.<br /><br />In addition they will have the opportunity to have their demos critiqued by Andy Ross, former boss of Food Records,120 consecutive top 100 singles and six UK number one albums with three different artists including Blur. Andy Currently manages Bleech.<br /><br />Andy Ross is joined by Leonard Lowy a solicitor specialising in the music industry, Mel Brown the MD of Impressive PR, Andy Allen CEO of Backstreet Merchandise and Richard Hodkinson Editorial Director of LondonTourdates magazine.<br /><br />Leonard Lowy commented "With so much doom and gloom out there at the moment, I can't think of a better time to launch a new initiative like this. For those of us who make our living from this industry, it's great to be able to give something back. Hopefully with our combined expertise we'll be able to help steer people in the right direction."<br /><br />Jarrod Robinson, CEO of Tourdates, added “Tourdates is delighted to have been asked by Leonard to run the event which will provide our artist community with access to over 100 years of collective know-how.”<br /><br />Andy Allen, CEO of Backstreet Merchandise, praised the event saying "This is an excellent opportunity for artists to receive some professional advice and possibly avoid costly mistakes."<br /><br />Mel Brown feels there is a wealth of great bands that really don’t know where to start - they don’t know what PR is or when the best time is to start a PR push or campaign. Getting an experienced PR on board early could make a huge difference to the overall strategy of the bands career.<br /><br />The first event is on Monday 26th January 2009 with bookings being accepted on a 'first come' - 'first served' basis.<br /><br />Artists can book online at <a href="http://www.tourdates.co.uk/musicians-clinic">www.tourdates.co.uk/musicians-clinic</a><br /><br />Jarrod Robinson, CEO, Tourdates Limited, 0844 561 0777Nicola Crichtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974512811157443722noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610200031404784268.post-67928555993121151642009-01-14T15:14:00.000-08:002009-01-14T15:16:41.937-08:00UNHOLY hits London ... 31.01.09KRAK ON / UNHOLY - SCALA Kings Cross<br />31 - 01-09<br /><a href="http://www.myspace.com/unholylondon" target="_blank">www.myspace.com/unholylondon</a><br /><br />CONTACT: Mick Wood : 07869 249 706 <a href="mailto:mick@monstaents.com">mick@monstaents.com</a><br /><br />MONSTA ENTERTAINMENTS (Synthetic Culture / Bar Monsta) teams up with OTT Promotions for an across the board celebration of all genres of Alternative Music & Nightclub Culture.<br /><br />Pooling the best DJs from every major club in London, along with the pick of unsigned live talent this eleven hour event will re-define Alternative clubbing in London, set in a stunning, 4 floor , central London venue UNHOLY will encompass Rock, Metal, Gothic, Industrial, Darkwave, EBM, Electro, 80s & Hard Dance along with live Rock & Metal performances.<br /><br />Starting at 7pm with KRAK ON, a Live set from The SUPERNOVAS , LR ROCKETS (current NME faves), GIRLS CANT DANCE (residents of the ill fated Nambucca) and headlining THE KRAK (ex members of SUFFRAJETS & BABYSHAMBLES) in a run up to their proposed Camden Crawl performances.<br /><br />At 10pm we open up all four floors for a mass “Alternative” club until 6am. Based near Manchester, they're a favourite on the classic metal and glam circuit.<br /><br />Rollin Thunder are a five piece stadium rock band that formed 4 years ago. Since then they have found themselves sharing the stage with great acts such as vein, Tigertailz and more recently finishing there first UK tour with the band that influenced Metallica, Diamond Head! These guys have been described by many as one of the best bands to come out of the UK since the likes of Black Sabbath and Def lep. Described lovingly as "the scariest thing to come out of Nottingham since Torvill and Dean", Evil: Scarecrow have been creating some waves this year.<br /><div></div><br /><div>Taking influence from Cradle Of Filth, Slayer and Europe, their "Blue Peter Metal" may seem a bit different than what Pure Rawk readers and gig goers are used to. However, we feel they firmly fit the criteria for a Pure Rawk band. They're far from carbon copies of anything around at the moment and if you don't fall in love with their "Iron Maiden meets Black Metal meets stickyback plastic performances" then there is certainly some rigamortis setting in. </div><br /><div>Evil: Scarecrow opened the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008 after winning an Unsigned competition voted for by fans earlier this year. Their previous two releases "Crowcifiction" and "Hell Dog" have received nothing but brilliant press from the big wigs of rock n' metal journalism.</div><br /><div>Whether you're into black metal or rock n' roll, Evil: Scarecrow will grab your attention with their dramatic stage show ... four note solos, robot dances and the 'Hell Dog'. Clive Leighton, Head of Marketing for Bloodstock Festival says "Bands like Fury UK are exactly what we want at Bloodstock, representing the real future of hard rock & metal for many years to come".<br /></div><div>Fury UK join an increasing list of Pure Rawk favourites such as <strong>Obsessive Compulsive, Evil Scarecrow</strong> and <strong>Heaven's Basement.</strong></div><div> </div><div>www.bloodstock.uk.com for full details about the festival. </div>Nicola Crichtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974512811157443722noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610200031404784268.post-65173339822571733992008-07-06T08:35:00.000-07:002009-01-25T10:12:03.651-08:00"Pin-Up" Award added to the Pure Rawk Awards! As you will know, the Pure Rawk Awards that now take place every year in February. Lyrically "Voyeur" is about sex and passion in its purest form. It's not just about getting rid of ones clothes, it's about getting rid of all inhibitions and letting go. And obviously it's about watching it!So the perfect way to capture the essence of the song is to use the most voyeuristic medium, the internet, and it's most voyeuristic accessory, the webcam. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Thus presenting you as the viewer AND the star at the same time. How does it work? Download "Voyeur" from our MySpace profile. Use your webcam or any other video cam (just position it like a webcam near your PC monitor), turn up the stereo and record yourself in front of your PC with YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION of "Voyeur"! It doesn't matter if you do it alone, with a friend, in a group, as a simple mini playback show, dressed like THE PLEASURES, with an imaginary guitar, in a tranny costume, with grandpa's sausage dog or in grandma's undies... Fantasy has no limits, so give your imagination full scope! </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>We can always censor anything too illicit afterwards! We ourselves and many other musicians and friends will be in the video too. We are not afraid to play good roles in this dirty story! Some things you need to be aware of:</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>-The cam must have a fixed position, like on a tripod, it must not move! That's the only way of getting the desired static webcam view!</div><br /><div>-If you are under 18 years old, please act appropriately. Nothing too erotic or we might get in trouble!</div><br /><div>-Video clips that you upload on Youtube.com or the like, will not be used in the video!-Please send the finished videos by post to the adress below or tell us via MySpace</div><br /><div>-Mail where we can download it. For example, a good public server for uploads is MegaUpload.com.</div><br /><div>-To protect us from being sued by you for millions, because you are part of our video, please sign this <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnN0dWRpbzc3Ny5kZS9UUC9NaXNjL1ZveWV1cl9SaWdodHMucGRmPQ==">STATEMENT OF AGREEMENT</a>, otherwise we cannot use your material! </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Send the signed document to:Fax:+49-40-664209</div><br /><div>Post:THE PLEASURES c/o Krogmann Zikadenweg 21 F22043 Hamburg Germany</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>You can also scan the signed document and send it totp(at)studio777(dot)de-</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>And now: TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO BE A PART OF IT TOO! THE MORE THE MERRIER! Need some inspiration? Here are the lyrics:</div><br /><div>THE PLEASURES - </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>"Voyeur"</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your dress</div><br /><div>Get ready to get soaked and wet</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your skirt</div><br /><div>Get ready to do it girl on girl</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your belt</div><br /><div>Get ready to please yourself</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your pants</div><br /><div>Get ready to use your hands</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off</div><br /><div>If you don't go fuck off</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off now</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off</div><br /><div>If you don't go fuck off</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your dress</div><br /><div>And leave me back in a mess</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your heels</div><br /><div>And let me feel what you feel</div><br /><div>Get ready to show some pink</div><br /><div>Before you catch a wink</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your stockings</div><br /><div>While the stereo is rocking</div><br /><div>Get ready to take off your bra</div><br /><div>And let's go to far </div>Nicola Crichtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974512811157443722noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3610200031404784268.post-15440122109046584512008-05-01T10:15:00.000-07:002008-05-04T08:15:00.656-07:00Trash-Stock 2008 line up announced!RIOT PROMOTIONS proudly presents ...

This is no dark and dingy venue, far from it. Inside Jo Jo’s it is a throwback to a bygone era of glamour, with crimson velvet banquette seating and gilded art-deco balustrades. We’re talking Dusk ‘til Dawn with fewer vampires and more guitars pitted against Long Good Friday with less dodgy fackin’ accents… or maybe not! Our resident Insane Model Posse will as always, deliver their exclusive stage show packed with in-your-face kick-ass attitude.<br /><br />So get ready to get loco in Soho on Wednesday 9 April @ Madame Jojo’s.
