Evil: Scarecrow are the first band confirmed to play the Pure Rawk Awards 2009. Described lovingly as "the scariest thing to come out of Nottingham since Torvill and Dean", Evil: Scarecrow have been creating some waves this year.Taking influence from Cradle Of Filth, Slayer and Europe, their "Blue Peter Metal" may seem a bit different than what Pure Rawk readers and gig goers are used to. However, we feel they firmly fit the criteria for a Pure Rawk band. They're far from carbon copies of anything around at the moment and if you don't fall in love with their "Iron Maiden meets Black Metal meets stickyback plastic performances" then there is certainly some rigamortis setting in.
Evil: Scarecrow opened the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008 after winning an Unsigned competition voted for by fans earlier this year. Their previous two releases "Crowcifiction" and "Hell Dog" have received nothing but brilliant press from the big wigs of rock n' metal journalism.
