Wanted: Bands for Pure Rawk's 3rd CD!
What is it? - Its a CD featuring some of the best rock, glam and punk talent around at the moment.
Pure Rawk did one before? - Correct. Actually, Pure Rawk did TWO. The first one was a freebie to a lot of festival go-ers (Download and Monsters of Rock) in the summer of 2006 and featured bands like Teenage Casket Company, Jack Viper and New Generation Superstars. The second one, "Unleashed and Loaded II", was in association with the Royal Marsden Cancer Trust ...
Pure Rawk Unleashed and Loaded Vol II out now! Buy from here (£3 inc p&p)
Featuring: Zen Motel, Red Light Rippers, Robin Black, Killola, Plastic Toys, New Generation Superstars, Crystal Kicks, Kitty Hudson, Drugdealer Cheerleader, Jack Viper, Disarm, Teenage Casket Company, Vytl Syne, Rollin Thunder, Nothin To Lose, Silverjet, Sweet Seduction, Patchwork Grace, Puredecay, Vamps and Gypsies.
"A most welcome release from the good people over at the 'Pure Rawk' website. This 20-track compilation is a good showcase of many of the movers and shakers in the burgeoning Brit glam scene (plus a couple of overseas inclusions) ... happy to say there's plenty to recommend ... All in all there's hardly a bad tune on here and it serves as a good overview of a scene that's growing nicely. Here's hoping for a Volume 3 some time soon" - Bubblegum Slut (Issue 26)
"Rock is kept alive by organisations such as Pure Rawk gathering music like this and letting us have it, so hats off to them. This is a great mix of tunes." - Komodo Rock
Corr! - indeed, we were incredibly flattered by what the critics said. It also reached NUMBER ONE in the Fading Ways Compilation chart! The 'Unleashed and Loaded' brand has helped so many bands over the past couple of years, Pure Rawk is doing it again.
I'm in a band, I'd like to go on it ... what do I do? - Ideally, we're looking for unsigned/independent bands that hasn't been on the previous ones, but if this particularly grabs your interest and you're neither of those three - lets sort something out! Send a message to the Pure Rawk MySpace or email purerawk@rock.com with links to your work and we'll see what we can sort out. Poor quality recordings or live recordings will be 'filed' in the correct manner.
What are you not looking for? - Progressive epics, your version of 'November Rain' (come on, its a 18-20 track CD!), screamo, emo, out-and-out metal ... use your brain, what would we cover on Pure Rawk?
When will it be available? - a little while off yet, we're having a CD release party in August featuring some of the bands on the CD! A right old knees up in London, UK! It'll be available on hard copy and from Pure Rawk as a digital download itself.
